Hello, I'm Derek Hawn, and I'm running to be your next State Representative for Tennessee's 41st District with a simple yet powerful commitment: People over Politics. With over 18 years on the front lines in EMS and Fire services, I have dedicated my career to protecting our community and ensuring our public safety, always putting the needs of people first.

My experience isn't just about responding to calls; it's about investing in our community's future. As an instructor in high schools and for Roane State Community College's dual enrollment program, I've been committed to teaching life-saving skills and enhancing our collective resilience. Volunteering at local fire departments and the rescue squad has been both a duty and an honor, allowing me to serve our neighbors and safeguard our homes. These experiences have reinforced my belief that when we prioritize people over political agendas, we can achieve remarkable things.

Beyond emergency services, I am deeply rooted in our district's cultural and economic fabric. My involvement in the Tennessee Cattleman's Association and the Morgan County Genealogical and Historical Society has strengthened my dedication to our district's rich heritage and its thriving agricultural community. These connections have shown me the importance of preserving our values while embracing progress - a balance that can only be achieved when we put people first.

Why am I running?

I'm running because this community is my home, and I believe in putting its people first. It's where I was born and raised, and it's where I've chosen to build my life. This community has shaped me into the person I am today, and I feel a deep sense of responsibility to give back and ensure it continues to be a great place to live for future generations.

This community means everything to me. It's where I've experienced life's highs and lows, built lasting relationships, and learned important life lessons. It embodies the values I hold close: hard work, integrity, and community. These are the values that should guide our politics, not partisan interests.

By running for office, I want to make a real impact on our community by prioritizing people over politics. I want to use my experience in public service to address the challenges we face and bring about positive change. I aim to ensure that our community continues to thrive and that our values are represented in the decisions that affect us.

I bring a fresh perspective to the table, one that's rooted in our local culture and values. I want to fight for policies that reflect our community's needs and aspirations, not political agendas. My goal is to create an environment where everyone feels heard and where decisions are made transparently and inclusively - because that's what putting people over politics truly means.

I'm running because I care deeply about my community, and I believe I have the skills, experience, and commitment to make a positive difference. By prioritizing people over politics, we can ensure that our community continues to be a place we're all proud to call home.

Together, we can build a future where the needs of our people always come first.
